For the Happiness of All Farmer Families

The project has been working to improve farmers' livelihoods in the Acholi Sub-region of Uganda since 2015.
Implemented by

During Phase 1 (2019-2021), the project developed a livelihood improvement approach and successfully trained over 2,300 farmers and more than 70 Agricultural Officers across eight districts in the Acholi region, despite the challenges posed by COVID-19.

Currently, Phase 2 (2021-2026) is expanding the livelihood improvement approach and promoting dry season vegetable production to further enhance farmers' income.

NUFLIP Livelihood Improvement Approach for subsistence farmers

The NUFLIP Livelihood Improvement Approach consists of two major components.

Market-Oriented Vegetable Production to generate farmers' income

The technologies and knowledge provided in the NUFLIP livelihood improvement approach are practical for subsistence farmers in the Acholi region who have little experience in vegetable cultivation and limited financial resources.

Quality of Life (QOL) Improvement to achieve “Happiness for all family members”

The NUFLIP approach respects the culture and customs of the Acholi people while encouraging them to reexamine, become aware of, and improve their lives.
